2 domains, 1 hosting?

If I had 2 domains for one company, should I have 2 separate sites, one for each, should I have both the domains pointing to one website or should I mirror the exact same content on two different domains on two different sites? Which would be the least amount of work but still not violate search engine ethics?

To begin with, please define what you mean by "sites". When you say "sites" are you really intending to mean "servers"?

I'm assuming that by "sites" you mean sets of files.

I'm also assuming that there's really no need for both domains and that the extra one just needs to be put to use for some reason.

I'm basically assuming that this is a purely SEO question.

If so, sounds like a case for a simple 301 redirect to the main domain.
