Two answers: A herd. "sliced" is cowboy termonology for splitting a herd into to groups, with a mounted man leading each.
Sheep also works, if sheering counts for slicing.
Silly Scoates. This can be hooked but not reeled in.
What can be chipped and still remain whole?
What can be bladed but isn't a knife?
Or banked without any money?
