I would like recommendations for a shredder. I have used Norton Utilities in the past, but I no longer have any Symantec stuff on my computer and would like to find a good stand-alone program.

Eraser ( http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/ ) is the only decent quality freeware for such a purpose I know about (it's also open source).

(Just a heads up...BC Wipe, listed previous, offers a free 30-day evaluation, and numerous other similar products which even claim to be freeware either work for a limited period or with severely limited functionality until you purchase the program.)
