looking for the name of a movie.. the plot has something to do with end of the world i think. a bunch of scientists and military build a giant device to save something, it has multiple rings that spin and generate a worm hole i think. anyways a person infiltrates the machine and blows it up. all seems lost until a billionaire shows up and says that he has built another identical one with his own money…. ect. ext. any one know it????

I was looking at Contact but I wasn't sure it fit the description. (doomsday etc.)
