Tagged photos in Facebook

If I am tagged in a photo on Facebook which is available publicly, why doesn't it appear on my public profile. Can only some pics where I am tagged appear on my public profile? Can I choose which pics where I am tagged will appear on my public profile?

From Facebook:

Where will tagged photos appear on my Page?
Tagged photos will appear in your Page's Photos section. Stories about tagged photos will not appear on your Page's Timeline.

To prevent tagged photos of your Page from appearing on your Page:
Click Settings at the top of your Page
Click Posting Ability
Below Allow other people to post to my Page Timeline, click to uncheck the box next to Allow photo and video posts
Click Save Changes
