Hi,
My comp was recently infected by the virus TROJ_P2E.B, which hides itself in the file C:\_RESTORE\TEMP\A1355221436.CPY.
Several scans by AVG and Housecall by PcCillin detected the malware, but were not able to remove it from the above file.
Removal tools not found...yet.
What's the cure for this?
Should I just delete C:\_RESTORE\TEMP\A1355221436.CPY? But so far I don't know, if this file is needed for running the computer...
Many thanks in advance for any instructions to fix this!
Norbert
Try to disable System Restore options.
If you are using Windows XP, then right-click My Computer/Properties/System Restore and check Turn Off System Restore On All Drives
Restart your PC and scan it again with AV and see if the virus is still there.
If the virus is gone then uncheck Turn Off System Restore On All Drives.
yes, thanks, I believe I just did that instictively and no virus was found anymore...so I guess, It's been removed....
Thank's and have a good day!
Norbert
