Hotmail account is rendered useless

arrrg - yesterday afternoon I opened up my hotmail account and all of the icons are gone so there is no way to log in/off (sign in/sign out logo has now been replaced with a small red "x") - as a matter of fact ALL the icons/images are missing on the opening page (file folders, etc). I can no longer send out email, but I can still receive email at my address.

One thing somewhat unusual - I opened an email from a friend yesterday morning and after the fact noticed that her email address had a upper case "D" in it instead of the usual lower case "d". I have Norton Anti-Virus, AVG and have scanned the heck out of my comp with other security freeware - no infection has been found (housecall, Stinger). There are no bug reports re: hotmail that I can find. Any ideas about what's gone wrong? I hope I've explained this clearly. Thank you.

HAVE YOU TRIED ACCESSING YOUR HOTMAIL ON ANOTHER MACHINE OR TRIES USING IT THROUGH POP3 WITH OUTLOOK. tRY DELETING ALL YOUR COOKIES THIS MAY HELP. EMAIL ADDRESSES ARE NOT CASE SENSITIVE SO THIS SHOULDN'T BE AVIRUS JUST IN A DIFFERENT FORMAT.
