Will we see people from earth in Heaven?

For the Christians:

I heard a pastor speaking to his dying wife. He asked her if she thought they would meet in heaven. She said "I think we'll turn into another sort of being and we won't recognize one another."

Do you think you will meet people from earth in Heaven?

Or will you sort of become another being, and not recognize people from earth?

What are we going to turn into? Big Eyed Aliens? I intend on wearing my hair differently in heaven so I might be difficult to spot. Also, they don't give you a very attractive wardrobe so a lot of folks won't want to be seen in public anyway. And there's no makeup. I know I'd never recognize my ex-wife without her makeup.

It's nice to see that you have a high self-image, Bear, but think of the other people who don't reside in your world.

Think of the elderly bingo- playing church matrons. If they venture into heaven and see you, as you are, surely they will believe they've stumbled into hell.

You can't do that to those poor old women. Have a heart.

Show some compassion.

Thats why I prefaced it with "For the Christians:"

It seems most Christians believe in a heaven. But I was surprised to learn that some don't necessarily think we'll be up there with our family & friends. We won't recognize one another, some believe. I was just wondering what folks think about this.

Yes. We'll recognise one another--but we won't have proprietary relationships.

I believe we'll be on a plane much richer in love and comraderie than marriage or friendship.

I believe there is a better place after this life - there can not be anything worse. However, because it is a better place for everybody, I think you'll get to see the ones you truly loved - that will make things a lot more complicated now that I think about it.

(Note to self: Do we have to see them, why can we just start a new? Confused

In cyber heaven Gus, every chair at every bingo table will be equipped with it's own vegetable sprayer, and I will call the bingo games in a leather sheath and dog collar. The elderly matrons will be in heaven indeed.

I was raised with the idea of heaven, I like the idea of heaven and hope to see my mother and father there someday. It warms my heart.
