.. Or perhaps this might do the trick?:
Volare, oh oh
Cantare, oh oh oh oh
Let's fly way up to the clouds
Away from the maddening crowds
We can sing in the glow of a star that I know of
Where lovers enjoy peace of mind
Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind
Just like bird of a feather, a rainbow together we'll find
Volare, oh oh
E contare, oh oh oh oh
No wonder my happy heart sings
Your love has given me wings
Mentre il mondo pian piano spariva lontano laggiu
Una musica dolce suonava soltanto per me
Volare, oh oh
E cantare, oh oh oh oh
No wonder my happy heart sings
Your love has given me wings
Nel blu, dipinto di blu
Felice di stare lassu
Brand New Set of Rules - Mick Jagger
I will be kind -won't be so cruel
I will be sweet - I will be true
The pains of love- You quickly learn
Are soon to heat- and quick to burn
I got a brand new set of rules
Because I am your brand new fool
I got a brand new set of rules
I got to learn
You'll be so proud-so proud of me
You'll see the change-so plain to see
Because of you- a brand new start
Because of you - a change of heart
I've got a brand new set of rules
It's just like I was back in school
I've got a brand new set of rules
I've got to learn
I'm gonna change - just mark my words
You can't believe all that you've heard
All of those lies-all of those rumors
That your friends told you...
And if I'm left upon the shelf
Cause you belong to someone else
I got my brand new set of rules
Because I am nobody's fool
I got a brand new set of rules
I got to learn...
*anyone know this song? I heard it once in a movie -but I can't even remember now which movie. I don't know if he did it for the soundtrack or if it's on one of his solo albums. I downloaded it from the server we had in the US - we had Rhaphsody - but can't find it anymore. Any help finding the soundtrack or solo effort this is on would be appreciated.
yesterday I was going around making up rhyme lines to Johny Cash's "Ive Been Everywhere Man"
A true ear worm when it gets looped in your brain. All you can do is make up stupid town names .
Been to SChuylkill Haven,
Lock Raven.
Romisch Vagan
Quenbayan
Mic mac
Fon du lac
Kodiak
Saranac
Mactaquac
Shediac
Ive been everywhere
It gets pretty depressin after a while, especially with other people in the car not stickin to the rules and just making up names.
We can drive it home with one headlight....

A really great rock song. Jacob definitely got his daddy's genes.

The 12 year old drove me nuts one week, going around singing that song.

How fast have you been there :
No idea!!
You know, panzade, I always thought that was an Australian song! You learn something new every day!
Today's annoying stuck lyric:
I will go down with the ship!
etc, etc ...
(I seem hellbent on torturing myself don't I?
)
I made the mistake of getting my hands on Elvis Costello's 'When i was cruel' - it is not an album that just grabs you and makes you hooked. Far too subtle for that.
Now I am riffing to:
Quote:I want to paint you with glitter and with dirt
Picture you with innocence and hurt
The shutter closes
Exposes the shot
She says, "Are you looking up my skirt?"
When you say "No"
She says "Why not?"
I want a girl to turn my screw
To wind my watch, to buckle my shoe
And if she won't her mother will do
But when she does as she's told
We'll all turn platinum and gold
But when she sits on my knee
I hear her whispers to me
'Can't you see?'
'I could be your spooky girlfriend.'
Damnable!! You just can't get away from the voices in your head!
My sister (who is a very nice person, apart from sharing a huge amount of genetic material with me) watches 'Young Britain'. She has a favourite expression from that - it does NOT AFFECT HER WORK!! BUT I have to provide some sort of IT support as part of my job. Whenever I do - I hear my damn sister's voice saying...... "Computer says 'no'".
YOU try and provide quality service with that IMPEDIMENT!!
"I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert
But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime.
In a big country dreams stay with you
Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside."
From "In a Big Country" by Big Country
Fine song;wish they'd continued.

Me too. I seem to recall that one of the main people committed suicide in the group.
at the moment mine is that stupid Crocodile'Schnappy' song
from Germany sung by a 4 year old....everytime I hear it...
it sticks in my head and whats more frustrating is that
I have to hum it because the words are in German!
Kiwichick
For a moment there I thought JLNobody had a lyric stuck in his brain! A first!
This avatar thing is becoming confusing.
For those who live in Australia and watch channel 7 - the song that that channel has used now as its theme song, from Partridge Family, I think I love you:
hey, I think I love you
so what am I so afraid of
I'm afriad that I'm not sure of
a love there is no cure for
I think I love you
Isn't that what life was made of
Though it worries me to say
i've never felt this way.
Its a nice song and driving me nuts at the same time.
This guns for hireeeer, even if were just daaancin' in the dark, do do do do dooooooo, du du du duuuh duh duh dudu.
