AIM Problems...

Hello to all. When I start my computer, and sometimes in the middle of using it after it has been on, the warning pops up and says "The AIM hyperlink you've clicked on may require you to be online to work. Please Log In first." I X out of this, and when I start AIM, my away message automatically pops up with the message "OH F**K anglefire.com/ms3/sipz/profile.scr" All of my Norton AV software is up to date, and I also have Spyhunter for adware/spyware. Also, sometimes IE loads itself as well to that website, or similar address. It has been well over 48 hours since I wrote to AIM, and I am hoping either Symantec or someone on here will be able to give me information soon as this is really starting to be a pain in the arse seeing it all the time. Much appreciation for any insight any and all of you can give.

I worked for AOL for 2 years... ;-)

Remove, reinstall.
BEFORE you reinstall... clear out cookies, clear out internet cache , and turn off all windows programs..( if you are using windows for PC and not mac)
Restart your computer, then reinstall.

AIM crazy problem
I'm hoping that i can get ahold of shewolfnm on this one, or anyone who has a clue whats going on. Ok heres the deal bear with me....

When i type to the buddy i am talking to in AIM it lags about 7 seconds before it appears on the chat screen...but i know the user is reading it as if it came up the minute i pressed enter because they're response's are just as quick (plus ive tested with two comp's next to eachother)

Ive scanned my comp with both norton and stinger multiple times. Ive run ad aware to get rid of all spyware and adware on my computer. Ive uninstalled re installed aim and also installed an older version. But heres the thing.... when i direct connect with that user the problem go aways completely. AIM as a whole runs beautifully just when im typing to my buddy. I dont have the slightest clue if this problem deals with my computer or aim. If ANYONE can offer a solution or a possible "try" to fix the problem post it here or i would rather you email me at

[email protected]

If i havent made anything clear enough or you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask. Very Happy

LAG
I have the same exact problem. The lagging. I've run tests to see which programs it runs on..it runs mainly on AIM, or any side program running AIM, like Trillian or GAIM, etc. It seems to not lag when you send short messages, like "hey, hello, hi" just short messages, but when you write long messages, it lags behind about 7 seconds. This has only been recently happening..it worked fine before, but one day, out of nowhere, AIM decides to lag. And believe me, its not the memory of the computer..im running a decently fast processor(1.7ghz) with 512MB RAM. Any solution to this would help..restarting doesn't work, reinstalling doesn't work..different versions of AIM doesn't work.

I have had the same problem the last few days, but I have found the answer. You need to go to xblock.com and download X-Cleaner free ware version. Once you have the program downloaded you need to make sure that you have checked Verify/Fix network "LSP" Settings and then click Start Cleaning. After that you need to restart you computer and you should be able to IM without a problem.
