Dear Readers,
I have a PC of the following spec
Intel Pentium MMX Celeron 300MHz
192 Mb of RAM 64+128 PC133
20Gb Maxtor HDD on Primary Master
Trident 958 VGA
The keyboard change its layout and I can't get nothing for typing. Here is my keys description
F3=Restart Computer
Space=Toggle Mute Speaker
s=s;
Left Arrow=Backspace+Space
x=Plus Char(+) + Carriage Return + x
2=Launch IE (Numeric Key Pad 2 is good)
Microsoft Visual Keyboard work well but how can I type the whole document by Mouse? I try Microsoft Keyboard Layout Controller from microsoft.com but it need .net frame work so I have to wait to get more than 30Mb package.
I think it is from PS2 port, I'll try USB to PS2 adapter later.
Best Regards,
Francesco Andrio
From the description of your machine, I'm gonna guess you're running Win9x.
Is your keyboard the one that came with your computer or is it a third-party product? Either way, the drivers may have become corrupted.You might want to go into Device Manager and "Remove" your keyboard, then reboot; on reboot, the 'puter should detect the keyboard and reinstall its drivers. You might also want to try this:
Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Keyboard > KeySettings > Restore Defaults > Apply > OK ... then reboot. That might do it for you, unless in fact you have a hardware problem. If it is a hardware problem, keyboards, even sophisticated enhanced-function varieties, are cheap ... if you decide to get a new keyboard, particularly an advanced model, be certain to follow the installation/setup instructions, if any, to the letter.
