I have tried the MS Chat support, but was finally told that it requires a phone call to a technician. I can do everything but actually access the languages; everything is properly checked and/or selected.

Have you installed Hebrew on the computer?



In other words, you can't type in Hebrew on any other applications.

But Hebrew is listed among the very many available languages among Regional and Language Options on the control Panel. Why would it be listed if it can't be used?

Tomkitten - This is just a guess. If you go to control panel>regional and language options>advanced, there is a list of languages. I have the default setting, and never touched this part of the computer. The Hebrew is not checked. Is the Hebrew checked on yours? Hebrew is 10005.

I got it! I got it! Now all I have to do, ha ha ha, is figure out how to make the letters read right-to-left.

Was I correct about checking off "Hebrew"?

Yes, in a way. Actually there are two places where you can check off Hebrew, and one has those codes while the other is just a list of languages. I checked the list, not the code menu, and eventually got to Hebrew-English and can toggle back and forth between the two languages.

If you are interested I'll try to reconstruct exactly what I did. It was basically an intellectual exercise in computer usage for me, really, as I don't know enough Hebrew to write a proper letter; only enough to read the Prayer Book, but it was fun to see if I could organize it.

If you prefer I can guide you to English-Catalan. Or what about Kazakh? or Latvian?

How 'bout Transylvanian? I might need it if I want to write to the Count!

Sorry, you'll just have to use sign language. But I did count 17 varieties of English and 19 of Spanish!
