Paul Revere Dick was the founder of the group Paul Revere and the Raiders, from Idaho. In 1966, they had a hit (no. 1 in Canada, no. 4 in the U.S.) with this song, sung by Mark Lindsay:

The Yardbirds were a group most famous for it's guitar players. Here they do "Roll On" (a variation of "Train Kept a Rollin' "), in the Michelangelo Antonioni film Blow Up. Page and Beck do a two guitar lead, and Keith Relf sings. (Antonioni asked Beck to smash his guitar at the end of the scene, so he went out and bought a cheap German guitar.)

"Dazed and Confused" was a song which Page ripped off from Jimmy Holmes (who finally sued him in 2010), and performed with the Yardbirds. He then wanted Led Zeppelin to record it, and had changed the lyrics and partially disguised the melody. The singer is Robert Plant:

This obscure English group had a drummer known for his beautiful singing voice. Here he sings "I wanna be your man," which they also offered to the Rolling Stones, who released it as their second single.

Don Henley, who sings lead vocals on this track, has said that it was inspired by the bands reactions to L.A. after the arrived in California--i dunno, maybe so . . . (We had a foreign type non-American who started a thread on the lyrics once, i don't know if she got what she wanted.)

This guy only has two songs I could name. One with is with the New Christy Minstrels. He was in the audience at the first Bob Dylan concert I went to and he was in LA local news quite a bit for peace protests.
