Messy and undone
That's how I left things
A fading bond
Reflected in golden rings
If memory serves
That's how I left things
When I'm alone
Reflecting with guitar strings
My turn to think
That's how I left things
I feel remorse
Detected now as I sing
(chorus)
And I tell myself
That I'm doing the right thing
For me
All the while
It's taking an army
To convince me
Would someone
Help me please
Blindsided you
That's how I left things
I'm growing numb
Deflecting self-loathing stings
Your turn to speak
That's how I left things
Avoiding you
Rejected as the phone rings
I'm sorry too
That's how I left things
If peace would come
Direction to my feelings
(chorus)
I can't help myself
If I'm doing the wrong thing
For me
All the while
You can see right through me
I cannot flee
Could you forgive
Me please
Quite good.
I can almost hear it being sung by the old "Life of Agony!" Long, drawn out mournful words...
Thanks!
As usual I write words and music simultaniously so the mood fits.
I's an easy listening song but not too agonizing.
