Turn on light #1 and leave it for a while then turn it off.
Turn on light #2 and go into other room the light that is on is switch #2 the one that is still hot is#1 the cold one is #3

Some riddles strike you as obvious some dont, I've looked at riddles for a week and eventually given up to them, and when I've been told the answer I've been really annoyed with myself that I couldn't get it.

There is one here by anjabee that is getting to me, I've looked at it now for an hour and a half.

I almost feel as if it's "cheating" but only because it deals with the problem as a real-life problem rathar than an abstract one. But...your answer does the same thing...so I don't think it's any less valid.

anyway...if it's the regular up/down wall switch, you can just position it in the center and the light will have a partial circuit and be dimmer.
