As a kid growing up in Chicago, Ernie Banks was my favorite baseball player. Thus, it was with a great deal of sadness, that I recently learned of Mr. Banks death.

He was a hero in the City of Chicago at a time when this City needed a hero, who was able to transcend numerous racial barriers, both in the sport of baseball , but more importantly, in the art of living a good and proper life.

Rest in peace Ernie, and for the Lord's sake keep on smiling...
