which queen, though!? Who cares!
Stilly's verse
Gets worse!
Bunny buns
and silly puns!
Yeah, everyone's a critic. How can an artiste produce their finest work amongst such clods!!
we just keep on truckin', darlin', just keep on truckin'....
You must be mellowing out deb. I honestly thought after such an elaborate set-up with that 'shaggy-dog' ending I'd still be flying thru the air on a one-way to Peru.
I might have a go at the 'wimmens-is-evil' thread and see how my luck's going.
Runnin' out, darlin', runnin' out.
Here's the poem I was looking for.
Thanks again to Mr Stillwater.....
The Brown Snake
Douglas Stewart.
I walked to the green gum-tree
Because the day was hot;
A snake could be anywhere
But that time I forgot.
The Duckmaloi lazed along the valley
In amber pools like tea
From some old fossicker's billy,
And I walked under the tree.
Blue summer smoked on Bindo,
It lapped me warm in it's waves,
And when that snake hissed up
Under a shower of leaves
Huge, high as my waist,
Rearing with lightning's tongue,
So brown with heat like the fallen
Dry sticks it hid among,
I thought the earth itself
Under the green gum-tree
All in the sweet of summer
Reached out to strike me.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah! I remember that poem from school!
Loved it.
Pardon? Were you chewing?
Dry throat y'know - ticklish......
"Ribbit?", Rabbit?? Or Rapid, Rabid Robert's Report??
Gotta train to catch, night all!
