on the home pc, the new posts page refreshes automatically, but not on the work pc.
would like to get work to auto-refresh, bcos i only have a limited # of hits before i lose my connection and have to reboot (which i think is my company's way of punishing us for too much surfing!)
is there a setting for this? if so, where is it.
thanks
What do you mean by refresh automatically? Do you mean the page periodically reloads? Do you mean that the content from the work computer is outdated?
I suspect it's the latter, if so it sounds like you may be pulling up a cached version of the page.
Lemme know what's what.
home PC:
i hit the most recent post on the new posts page,
read it,
hit the BACK button,
if someone adds a new post, the one i just read is no longer the most recent post.
work PC:
i hit the most recent post on the new posts page,
read it,
hit the BACK button,
the one i just read is still the most recent post.
sounds like its an IE setting, as opposed to an A2k setting?
Yes it's an IE setting, the one at work is working the way it's "supposed" to (i.e. the usual settings, back is "supposed" to come from cache).
Tools > Internet Options > General > Settings (in 'Temporary Internet Files')
Select the option to Check for newer versions of stored pages 'Every Visit to the page'
that did the trick!
