.dll errors

Whenever I start up my computer, I get three .dll errors reading :

Error loading: C:\windows\system32\icdd7ee6.dll

Error loading: C:\windows\system32\li01f948.dll

Error loading: C:\windows\system32\jel2cde8.dll

Also, I have been getting major pop-ups galore and lag on certain games I play. Sometimes my comp has problems running more than two programs when it used to run em like nothing. I have tried restoring to about 5 different dates ranging from 1 week ago to 2 months ago, and failed everytime to restore. I currently have Nortons anti-virus if that helps.

Please someone help, this all started after a couple power outs from storms.

I'm sure that someone will probably be able to help you Here; but, your inquiry would probably get more attention if it were in the Computers forum..

Sounds like you have some kind of trojan or malware.

The general steps when you have such an infection is:

1) Make sure your AV program is updated.

2) Make sure you have your windows patches installed.

3) Install and run both AdAware and Spybot.

4) If that doesn't fix it download and run hijackthis and post a log for us to tell you what items to remove.

You can find more detail and links here: http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21110

Darco,

Use this link for hijackthis: http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe

It seems your infection is trying to disable access to the software that will remove it. Using the above link will circumvent a HOSTS file redirection.

Mind you that was after AdAware was installed, run, and it deleted about 355 files.

Cool. Ok, I have to get back to work so I won't pore over your log (though Timber, Monger or Nirvana are experts who might help while I'm out).

If I have a chance later on I'll get back to it. But for now please get rid of all the O1 - Hosts entries. This will unblock the anti spyware sites that this malware is blocking and will clear up the log for the next techie (these logs are tedious to look over).

You also seem to ahve ezula, which is notorious malware.

See here for some basic notes and see if the javascript detects ezula on your system:

Remove these. The last one looks to be a baddie but the first ones are just a nuisance. Plus Able2Know should be your home page anyway. ;-)

Get rid of that one too.

Now look, there is more to do, but I gotta get to work so get those fixed and post a new log. Then reboot and post a log and hopefully a techie will be around.

Sorry that was after I removed what he asked with the exception of the 02's. Not sure how to make backups and didnt see the ones he was talking about so didn't mess with em.

I will say since i got the googlebar, no more popups have been coming since, but still get my .dll errors when i restart. Also having trouble finding ezula now so maybe I have fixed that part.

Hi Darko, I bet your Desktop looks a mess now! This is because you are running HijackThis from there. You need to put HijackThis in it's own folder so that the backups are all kept in one (tidy) place:

Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Move HijackThis into this folder. When you run HijackThis from this folder and have it "Fixed checked" it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary. Please delete the old copy so it can't be used.

Restart HijackThis and put checks next to the following, close all browser windows (including this one) then click on 'Fix Checked':
