How to Convert Txt to Wav

I've heard that software such as Excel or Matlab are capable of converting text (i.e. a list of data numbers in Excel) to a wav file that can then be played. Does anyone know specifically how this can be accomplished (i.e. through what Excel or Matlab command)?

there are many online tools and software available to convert .txt to .wav
