I would like to thank the academy for this wonderful honor of winning this years "Road to the Superbowl" I couldn't have done it without the one skill I possess and that is luck. From almost dead last in the regular season to champ. Look out next year. I am going for the regular season title now.

@ehBeth,
...and I still don't believe Seattle threw the ball on second and goal from the one yard line!

Me neither.
Not complaining, though.

@George,
I was wondering if Pete Carroll was trying to make a gutsy move like Bill Belichick has been known to do or if he was overally confident.

@Linkat,

it took fifteen years, but Coach Carroll finally won a superbowl for the Pates...

He'd already made a gutsy move to end the the first half.

The Patriots were in a goal-line-stand set, they had a down to waste,
and the likelihood of an interception was small. That said, it was
still a head-scratcher.

They had a time out. So they try to run the ball one yard. If they dont make it they consider passing on the next play. I dont see how a pass gets justified given the situation, it might have worked, but it was a dumb call.

And what does this say to Lynch? "we love you and want to pay you big money to stay but we dont trust you to get one yard at crunch time"?

Carroll is a two time loser in the NFL, and he cost them a ring. I would consider firing him. It is not clear to me that going forwards he has the authority and trust of the fans and players to run this team on the field.
