Suppose you have a scanner that has parellel ports only and a printer that has usb ports only, and your pc can take both, is there a way to use both the scanner and the printer together with your pc?
And remember the scanner and printer plug into one another besides into the computer. Is there some sort of an adapter maybe? Thank you!
I know what you're talking about peggy - I also got a scanner that has two parallel ports, one going to the PC and the other going to the printer.
Now what I don't get: What keeps you from pluging the printer into the usb thing and doing the same with the scanner and the parallel port of your machine?
I'm operating a scanner, plugged to the parallel port and a printer connected to a router which in turn is connected to my PC - crazy network stuff I know.
Cyanure, that's it!!
Thank you so much. Very good web site for just what I need. Appreciate your help! -Peggy Ann
Cyanure, Good link; thanks. I've ordered a Epson 1280 printer, but it doesn't come with a cable, so I'll need to buy one. The link you provided provides all the different types necessary to connect to a USB port on my computer.
