I am researching different types of shock absorbing material, and I would like to know what ingredients are used to make shock absorbing gel, such as the gel that is used in the padding of running shoes and batting gloves. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
@Joe-Michael42,
Apparently there are several classes, most of which are air "whipped" powder colloids. Id suggest looking for the generic product (Shock absorbing gel ) and look to find their Material Safety Data Sheets and CAS numbers. That would give you the approximate mixes and chemistry since most f them arePAH/ urethane based with Calcium carbonate (<.04 micron) suspensions .
Heres just one used in sneakers
Di-isononylphthalate
28553-12-0
Calcium Carbonate

Polyether Urethane
