turnover rules

Ok in the cinn Pittsburgh game Bengals we in a 4th down in punt formation they fake the punt try to run for the first down the guys fumbles the ball goes past the first down mark a Bengals player recovers the fumble but they give the ball to Pittsburgh if I heard the right because the guy that fumble the ball didn't recover the ball it's Pittsburgh ball please help explain this run
