edgar, I love The Battle of New Orleans. Had no idea that guy wrote both of those songs, dear friend.

Well, it's dark and dusky here, so I'm going to say good afternoon with two song.

First a poem by Tennyson set to music.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcTyIaYLQqo

Now, Johnny that tells us what we all here have in common:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Np_UwCeXm-E

Great to have England with us.

From Letty with love to everyone here

Having big problems with the equipment in our Florida Radio station.

edgar, Mark, Thanks for your comment and saying my name. Loved that song and please hurry back.

Latin George, What a surprise to find out that you like rock and roll. Good song, however.

Two songs for the late and dusky afternoon here. First today is Thomas
Jefferson's birthday, so here is a tribute to UVA and him:

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Dinah, Mark. Hope you liked South Pacific.

In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. All he proved was that the world
was round. Actually, he was looking for a short cut to the spice islands.

Here's another Dinah:

April 2015, in the UK at least, has been gorgeously sunny and we also had a very mild winter. Not so in 1887.

Quote:
REAL APRIL FOOLS.

They say March comes in like a lion,
And exits in guise of a lamb.
Such fudge why will saw-mongers try on ?
The thing is a palpable flam.
Here's April the First—such a twister!
It flows, and it snows and it blows.
Wild March has bequeathed to his sister
No soft lamb-like ways, goodness knows.

We 're all April fools who have flattered
Ourselves with fond hopes of the vernal.
We're bitten, and blasted and battered,
In short, it is simply infernal.
If March makes a baa-lamb-like exit,
The mind for that boon cannot care,
When April—to fool it and vex it-
Comes in like a dashed Polar bear!

Love that Fool expression:

Ah, what fools we mortals be: Shakespeare.

edgar, Loved Dinah doing Buttons and Bows.

Going to say good afternoon with three songs:

First: "poems were made by fools like me", etc;

Paul Robeson

Now, dear Cary and Audrey:

A book about the history of beer caused a flood of puns.

Quote:
The Oldest Ale.—A book has just been published
entitled The Beer of the Bible. The only Biblical beer of
which there occurs any direct mention is Beersheba; and
here the two last syllables, " she " and "ba," seem to in-
dicate the service of '1 Bar-maids." For further informa-
tion, and as to whether the reading should be "FromDan
to Beersheba all is barrel," or not, we refer to the autho-
rities of the Anglo-Jewish Exhibition at Albert Hall.

Once again, calling all, y'all. Smile

Today is this fantastic performer's birthday. I remember her best as Lara:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Yd2PzoF1y8

The lyrics:

Somewhere my love
There will be songs to sing
Although the snow
Covers the hope of spring

Where are the beautiful days?
Where are the sleigh rides to dawn?
Where are the tender moments of splendor?
Where have they gone, where have they gone?

Somewhere a hill
Blossoms in green and gold
And there are dreams
All that your heart can hold

Someday we'll meet again, my love
Someday whenever the spring breaks through

Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow
Till then my sweet, think of me now and then
God speed my love till you are mine again
Somewhere my love

Ah, remembering happier time now. I look at my late husband and me holding arms and smiling on the front of the ocean.

First, a poem:
