As a young man, I loved listening to this man sing and, of course, watch him act (Carousel, etc.). I tried mightily (and failed) to sing his songs and make it sound a tenth as good. Matt Monroe, Nat 'King Cole, ED Ames, John Raitt (Bonnie's dad) and Robert Goulet were pretty nifty, too. On top of that he defined the standard of what rugged good looks is about.
However, IMHO, in this song it exemplifies how great a male voice can possibly sound. What do you think?
Strange. I thought that I had welcomed Ragman back here and commented on his songs. Well, Mr. Photographer, I loveed Ed doing My Cup Runneth Over with Love.
Another example of Victorian humour, (never miss an opportunity to use a pun.)

Mr. Gladstone is going to reside for the season at Dollis Hill,
near Willesden. In honour of the advent of so great a lion, they are
going to alter the name to Willy's Den.

Good Saturn's Day, everybody.
Hey, Mr. Pun Man, how about Ravel's Sleeve of Care. Today is his birthday.
Them Spatula boys are at least different. I served with two musicians in the 60s. They could play any song, but it always sounded like surfing music, even Del Shannon's Runaway.
