More rain and thunder here, so I will say good afternoon with two songs.

First, Simon and Garfunkel:

Now, dear Bobby:

He was inspired by Charles Trenet, of course.

Wonderful having my Scottish friend with us.

Good morning from a sunny day here in our Florida radio station.

Ah, my long time friend Roger did Good Vibrations from The Beach Boys. Poor Dennis Wilson was the only one who could surf, and he fell out of a boat and drowned because of alcohol and drugs. <sniff>

First, the birthday of a war hero Emiliano Zapata reminded me of Viva Zapata:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAc5p68U6oI

that, of course reminded me of my long time friend, Bert. Smile

Now, a birthday guy:

Well, I stayed up to late last evening, so I just finished brunch.

Thinking of my little stray dog that I found shivering in the rain and picked him up and took him to my school. I was just a kid and in grade school.

When I got out he was still waiting for me there. My older sister named him Amber. Now, I know why:

also, y'all another memory:

When my late husband and I went to Roanoke Island. (the lost colony)we met Andy Griffith there and he was Sir Walter Raleigh. He was not a very nice man.We stayed at a primitive campground called Sandpiper's Trace.

Hope all poets and musicians are here today.

I never hear Billy Joel playing Piano Man that I don't think of euroGeorge.

I miss Latin George as well.

Today is Ester Williams' birthday, so here's another golden oldie:

Good Sun day morning from here in our Florida radio station.

edgar/Mark, good to see you back with us and those four bass players doing Beethoven's 9th reminded me of "The Band Played On."

Rog, always nice to see you here as well. Like your Beethoven also.

How about our hymn for Sunday.

First, The Browns:

Now, the original by the little sparrow:

Our poem for today, y'all:

Dolphin - Poem by Robert Lowell
My Dolphin, you only guide me by surprise,
a captive as Racine, the man of craft,
drawn through his maze of iron composition
by the incomparable wandering voice of Phèdre.
When I was troubled in mind, you made for my body
caught in its hangman's-knot of sinking lines,
the glassy bowing and scraping of my will. . . .
I have sat and listened to too many
words of the collaborating muse,
and plotted perhaps too freely with my life,
not avoiding injury to others,
not avoiding injury to myself--
to ask compassion . . . this book, half fiction,
an eelnet made by man for the eel fighting
my eyes have seen what my hand did.

Now, the one that edgar's reminded me of:

and another strawberry:

Welcome back JL, check out that poem. You and I both like poetry.

My daughter requested that I play these two songs. (a harlequin is a clown)

Now another one by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Here is some info:

The "Southern Cross" is a constellation also known as the Crux Constellation that can be viewed from most of the Southern hemisphere. The 4 brightest stars within the constellation form a cross pattern. Sailors have relied on the "Southern Cross" to help in navigating their boats. The national flags of Australia and New Zealand have versions of the Southern Cross on them.

Now, the song:

@edgarblythe,
edgar/Mark, you just warmed my heart with your comment and personal acknowledgement.

Loved Sophie doing As I Lay Me Down. Didn't know that great vocalist, so thanks again for the introduction.

As our creator knows, one doesn't have to be a theist to enjoy church music.

I awakened on night to this song playing, and later, I had to have eye surgery.

Saying good afternoon with it.

My vision is now fine.

Hope my long time friend Roger is alright.

Great mix of music here on our radio today.

From Letty with love to all of you here.

Right, Roger, I never see a painting nor hear a violin that I don't think of him:

Two songs for today.

Oliver's song is a good one, letty. The music from Hair is some of my favorite music.

Don't know the music in Antonio's video.
