Now our poem for today:

With eye upraised his master's look to scan,
The joy, the solace, and the aid of man:
The rich man's guardian and the poor man's friend,
The only creature faithful to the end.

George Crabbe

Love that poem about a dog.

The first dog that I had that I remember, was an American Eskimo. She was a stray, and I called her sugar.

Like swans, those dogs mate for life.

Good Thor's Day morning from our Florida radio station.

neko, as my long time friend Roger noted, Have You Ever Seen the Rain by Credence was a wonderful memory. Welcome back, to you as well.

Ah, my dear friend McTag. I know what you mean about "sound problems" as I was having one myself. Don't Stop Me Now by S.S.N. was fantastic and does lift my spirit.

Olivier 5 Alway love having you here, Mon Ami. and that Roma song brought fond memories of Latin George.

Today is Robert Mitchum's birthday and here is a duet of memories abou him.

First, a simple tribute:

Now, the trailer of a great movie starring him:

Well, McTag, somehow, I had this one stuck in my head:

Once again, looking back at happier times.

When my late husband and I first drove to Florida, we crossed a bridge and there was a huge group of pelicans flying above us.

These aren't flying but y'all will understand:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOr-ohX91Kg

Odgen Nash:

A remarkable bird is the pelican,
Whose beak can hold more
Than his bellycan.

He can hold in his beak
Enough food for a week,
But what I don't know is
How the hellhecan. Smile

@Letty,

I like these poems.

Last night, while going up the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today-
I wish that man would go away.

Anyone remember Tom Jones?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN3ME-rgpws

Sir Thomas Jones Woodward (born 7 June 1940), is a Welsh singer known by his stage name Tom Jones. He became one of the most popular vocalists to emerge from the mid-1960s. Since then, he has sung nearly every form of popular music — pop, rock, R&B, show tunes, country, dance, soul, and gospel — and sold over 100 million records.

I never understood this song, so I had to search it out:

One Tin Soldier" tells the story of a hidden treasure and two neighboring peoples; the peaceful Mountain People and the warlike Valley People.

@McTag,
Ah, my long time friend, love those different versions of Three Blind Mice, and it reminded me of this quote:

None so deaf as those that will not hear. None so blind as those that will not see.
Matthew Henry

Thinking of Rockhead Jon today. I'm afraid he is no longer with us. <sniff>

He introduced me to this one:
