@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment and personal acknowledgement, Mark. I didn't know Jim Lowe's From a Jack to a King, but thanks again for the introduction. It was great.

I tried to find Hoagy doing Heart and Soul, but no luck. Here he is doing one that I used to dance to. Smile

Mark, I love Written on the Wind by The Four Aces.

More synchronicity now. Today is OJ Simpon's birthday and that horrible pricipal DJ Viers came in and jerked the television cord out of the plug and said: Teach English. That's on of the reasons that I retired early.<grrrrr>

More Hoagy now:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2fbOAyNOpM

Now, Hoagy and Johnny:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv33cjD5uHQ

and The lyrics:

Skylark
Have you anything to say to me
Won't you tell me where my love can be
Is there a meadow in the mist
Where someone's waiting to be kissed

Skylark
Have you seen a valley green with spring
Where my heart can go a-journeying
Over the shadows and the rain
To a blossom covered lane

And in your lonely flight
Haven't you heard the music of the night
Wonderful music, faint as a will o' the wisp
Crazy as a loon
Sad as a gypsy serenading the moon

Skylark
I don't know if you can find these things
But my heart is riding on your wings
So if you see them anywhere
Won't you lead me there

Saying good afternoon with those fabulous performers.

Great having England with us, and our creator, of course.

The first time I ever heard Hoagy, I was a little kid, when Buttermilk Sky came on the radio. My Mom got a happy grin and announced to me, "That's Hoagy Carmichael." I always paid attention when any of his songs came on after that

Checked in and listened a bit -- loved Hank & Hoagy -- but it's been a
long day and tomorrow's commute will be over one hundred miles each
way. Nighty-night.

edgar, love that Move it On Over by Hank. I think I might have been introduced to Hoagy via Johnny, but I'm not certain.

Latin George: "good night sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite." Smile

Three songs for the morning here. First, after learning to use chop sticks to eat Chinese food, a funny one:

Now, a man from Texas:

and, y'all, one that my daughter loves:

Holding good thoughts and hope for my long time friend Bert.

Quote:
(Meteorological forecast for the Month.)

6th.—Queen's Weather continues. Raspberry crop fails. Strawberries sold by auction in Covent Garden Market, and fetch two guineas each.

13th.—Queen's Weather still continues. All the grass in Hyde Park turns brown, and suddenly disappears. Vegetables generally sell at famine prices. Riot of Dukes attempting to secure a bundle of late asparagus from a fashionable West End greengrocer's, suppressed by the police.

17th.—Queen's Weather as settled as ever. Great drought commences. London Water Companies cut off their supply. Five o'clock tea in Belgravia made from boiled soda-water. Apollinaris supplied in buckets, for washing purposes, at the rate of twenty guineas the dozen pint bottles.

21st.—Queen's Weather showing no signs of departure, fifteen umbrella-manufacturers go through the Bankruptcy Court, and commit suicide. Dust in London becomes intolerable. A Nobleman in Mayfair has Piccadilly watered with BASS'S India Pale Ale.

27th.—Queen's Weather established. The Thames runs dry between Vauxhall and Westminster. The Speaker gives a garden-party in the bed of the river. Café noir, made of ink, served as a refreshment.

31st.—Queen's Weather still continuing, seventeen ginger-beer manufacturers who have become millionnaires are raised to the Peerage. The Lord Mayor goes off his head, and, imagining that he is the Old Pump at Aldgate, is removed, by general consent, to Colney Hatch.

Good sunny morning from our Florida radio station.

Hurry back Latin George, as you know, I love Diana Krall.

You hurry back as well, Mon Ami.

First, a birthday man described as a gospel singer. First, some info:

Jacky Cheung (born 10 July 1961) is a Hong Kong singer-songwriter and actor. With more than 25 million records sold as of 2003, he is regarded as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" of Hong Kong.

Now, one to match that Canadian lady's song.
