My Girl - Hoodoo Gurus
(notable because a) It's one of the few songs I can sing and play bass to at the same time) and b) It reminds me of Herman's Hermits song/movie 'Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter' because the girl being sung about is a greyhound according to the video

@Wilso,
I've not heard that Anthony Warlow and John Farnham combo. Enjoyed that.

I haven't been a great fan of John Farnham. just an incidental listener. He does turn out a good song. Interesting that the last Johnny Farnham farewell tour may have been his last farewell tour.

I still love this song 40 years on. Fairly obscure - they had some bigger hits that I'll probably get to eventually

It's from The Main Event tour. Farnham, Warlow, and Olivia Newton John. The resulting album was the biggest selling of that year.

Not strictly 100% Australian, but the timing’s appropriate

Another track that I thought had 'world wide hit' written all over it. (not to mention fellow Perthians Dave Faulkner and Kim Salmon were behind it). No chart action anywhere (I bought the single), just an unlinked mention in Dave Faulkner's wikipedia entry.

Come On Spring - Antenna

Not the official clip, but had the best music quality.

I have a lot of love for this bit of Leftfield pop (that apparently did much better in the US than Australia (kudos if that's true) - definitely one of those tunes that leaves me in a better mood than it found me in

@Wilso,
Do you think naming her Mahalia was a bit of nominative determinism?

He never made any secret of the fact that he named her after Mahalia Jackson. I’ve heard him mention it in interviews
