Was Queen Mary I of England named after Henry VIII's sister Mary Tudor, Queen Consort of France and Duchess of Suffolk?
@CyrilSebastian,
Not sure, but I was told that she may have been named after a cocktail made of vodka and tomato juice.
Worcestershire sauce optional.

That is the suppositious conclusion.
Quote:Mary was the fifth child of Henry VII of England and Elizabeth of York, and the youngest to survive infancy. She was born at Richmond Palace. She and her brother, Henry, were close as children—he named his daughter, the future Queen Mary I, after her.
