Geology Topics

I have to find a topic to write about for Geology. It has to be a topic that will help me internalize other subjects we learned in class and relate them to something else, anything in the world. (Subjects such as Plate tectonics, Minerals, different rock groups, Magma and igneous rocks, volcanic eruptions, sediments and soils, sedimentary rocks, earthquakes, crustal deformation and mountain building)
Somewhat of an example is maybe something like Smartcars and why they were invented and they steps they took to relate to geology subjects.
Can anyone help and tell me some examples?
