If several elements are used between panes of glass in double pane windows designed to block heat flow.From what category are these elements chosen.How do you know.

probably oughta be a gas no?
What gasses would stay , sorta,, inert?

I know they use argon. I also understand the gas goes away, so isn't a bargain.

Argon is the third most abundant gas in the atmosphere: I know a bit about hot air.
