Can anyone help me find the full text to this poem?
My father was fond of reciting a poem which contained the following lines. He died and I wanted to recite it at his funeral.
"I'VE LIVED ALL MY LIFE"
"I'VE PAID ALL I'VE BORROWED"
"I'VE LOST ALL I'VE LENT"
...........
"I ONCE HAD A FRIEND"
"THAT SOON CAME TO AN END"
..........
"I HAD A DOG, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT DOG DID?"
"THAT DOG DIED!"
...................................
"YE THOUGH I WALK THRU THE VALLEY AND SHADOW OF DEATH"
..........................
Then it goes on to finish the 23rd psalm.
I don't know the full text but my mother used to says a lot of those things and she'd end it with, "and it's all because of you damned kids!"
