Am I working out too hard?

Hi,

I've recently got back in to the gym, after about a 5 year lay off. I do 20mins rowing (300 calories), 20 minutes treadmill (200 calories) and 20 mins cycling (150 calories) but I don't feel I'm losing my body fat as fast as I should be. Something on the treadmill made me wonder - it was referring to heart rate - it reads fat burn 60% ..... cardiovascular 80%.
It seems to imply that less effort will burn more fat. Sorry if this is a bit jumbled but would appreciate any advice or explanation.

If you ache all over the next day - even muscles you didn't really work, and have a low grade fever, you have probably been overtraining.

I'm inclined to advise you ignore any reference to calories and fat burning these monitors present to you. They can record heart rate with ease, and I think your target range is something on the order of 220 minus your age, or something like. Your own true target range would really only be accurate after a stress test administered or referred by your docto.
