I really like the way this guy John writes:
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.
John Muir
"The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness." John Muir, John of the Mountains, 1938
"Nature is at work building and pulling down, creating and destroying, keeping everything whirling and flowing, allowing no rest but in rhythmical motion, chasing everything in endless song out of one beautiful form into another" August 1899
"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike." The Yosemite, 1912.
After reaching an elevation of about 12,800ft, I found myself at the foot of a sheer cliff which seemed to bar further progress. It was only about 50ft high and somewhat roughened by fissures and projections; but these seemed slight and insecure as footholds. The dangers beneath seemed even greater than that of the cliff in front;Â…after scanning its face again and again, I began to scale it, picking my holds with intense caution. After gaining a point about halfway to the top, I was suddenly brought to a dead stop, with arms outspread, clinging close to the face of the rock, unable to move hand or foot either up or down. My doom appeared fixed. I must fall."

Check out what he says about VEGETARIANISM
When we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with the other stars, all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty.
John Muir
Thanks, husker! I think I'm a fan now, too!
I agree with Rae! I love Muir's writing style. Thanks, Husker.
