I'm still a freshman but I wanted to know if being a sophomore too late to play? We play during gym sometimes but we don't play the real game. We basically hit the ball back and forth. I'm doing my own research. I now know the rules and such. Thanks for reading

@DashDynamic,
These folks don't let age stop them from doing something they enjoy. Why should you?

@DashDynamic,

Try out. The weorst that can happen is you won't make the team. That's not the end of the world, or even close. Meanwhile, get better. Practice. Play with friends. Try out the things you've learned (lke spiking the ball). See if there are recreational leagues, or after school pickup games. Volleyball is fun, whether on a team or not. A friend and I got a couple of bamboo poles, a cheap net, and a cheap ball, and set them up on the banks of the river that runs thru town on Sundays for five or six years and people reappeared week after week to play, any levle of experience was welcome, any sex. A couple Israeli graduate students who'd played on teams over there showed up and were glad to have a chance to play. They were killers, very good, and a very different style of play. Very educational. And, I might add, at your age, you'll find something like that is a great way to meet girls/boys. Go for it.

@Ragman,
I didn't really ask. He is also my homeroom teacher but he comes late EVERY MORNING (School starts at 7, which means we usually wake at 5) And he is not my gym teacher

@DashDynamic,
You still need to speak to the coach about this, or if you are uncomfortable speaking to him - ask one of your parents to speak to him about it.

@ehBeth,
I did talk to him. He said I could try out despite not being experienced. I actually went to a game today. Pretty good
