My ex-wife informed me that she plans on moving my 15 year old son from NY to PA without my consent and within 10 days time. I have joint custody of my son with her. She states that because I had to move away to family in NC so I could recover from a heart attack and bypass surgery and get myself back on my feet that she can move the boy off to where ever she pleases. I have since moved back to NY but reside 200 miles away from her. I do have regular time with my son when he pleases and still have joint custody of him. In recent times, within the last 2 months , the ex has told me to come and take my son because she cant handle him. I have evidence of those conversations and my son was ready to come live with me. SHe has since decided that he will stay with her and shes moving him. What legal recourse do I have with this.

@phile64,
What does your lawyer say on these matters?

@Ragman,
This was literally dropped in my lap an hour ago!

@phile64,
If it were me, the first thing I'd do is contact my lawyer or find a good lawyer instead of trusting such important matters to Internet strangers.

@phile64,
Call your lawyer.

If your ex-wife contacts you again, let her know that you have called your lawyer.

@phile64,
Your son is at the age where he can verbalize which parent he wants to live with - and the court will listen to him.

Young boys his age need a strong male presence.
