@bennattod,
Sorry I'll start again. I meant, I haven't a clue on 29 and 49. It's no wonder I can't even get the question numbers correct.

@djmple,
Got 29 and 39 but struggling on 49.
Just a thought for 49 - as these places are all capitals do we have to look at the countries for each one before we work out the number.
Or ignore the cities completely and just go with a progression with the numbers. I can do that but that seems a bit easy or not in keeping with this type of question.

@glos 10,
thanks for the clue 29 still can't get it, thinking f1,
49 nice round figure for answer if using just progression of numbers if unlikely

@glos 10,
Question 49. Similar questions have appeared before. Possibly connected to number of straight lines in the Capital city or the number of vowels and consonants in each capital city. Squared or Cubed.

@bennattod,
Thanks Bennatod.I had come to that conclusion but am concerned that the QM may not consider the lower one as technically part of the spine and therefore will decide the answer is the upper one.

@djmple,
Further clues:
Q8: She will stage flat racing for the first time next year.
Q15: There is one very obvious surname which stands out, google her when you spot it and the rest will fall into place immediately.
