Are frontal lobes, behind our forheads, our brains?

QUOTE: We now know much about the frontal lobes: they support ‘executive functions’ within the brain such as planning, intending, imagining alternatives, initiating actions, directed remembering, and deferring gratification. In short, what makes us human."

All of those are supposed to be what the brain does. Can it be that the frontal lobes, behind our foreheads, are our brains, not what fills the rest of our skulls?

Not sure what you are trying to say. The brain does more than just those executive functions. The frontal lobes are just a part of our brain. There are other parts too, which do other necessary things. We need them all.

@Rickoshay75,
What makes you think you brain is not telepathically directed by your inner-bacterium? Are you in charge of your anatomical functions, or do they benefit from enabling your belief that you are?

Sorry for this being grossly off-topic, but what do you think of Catalonia's probable vote for independence?

I think they are very likely to vote yes, and I support them. The financial situation compared to the "rest of Spain", for one thing, is very different from Scotland vs. the rest of Britain; Catalunya sends more money to Madrid than it gets, to the tune of nearly £2,000 per inhabitant. Also the nationalist feeling is much stronger, and they have a living language that they all use.

@contrex,
I agree. The Catalans have a good shot, this time.... But... The elite have firmly established their financial foothold and Don't Like change.

There is documented proof that people can still function with half or nothing in their skulls.
