hello everyone, nice forum you got here

im in a pickle really and i would really appreciate all the help i could get.
me and my friend formatted one of the professors laptops here at work. (compaq presario 2500) he wanted windows 2000 instead of xp home edition.
the problem is i couldnt get the ethernet/audio/video etc drivers. i searched on the hp website, but they only had bios drivers. which didnt work anyway (gave me an error message: wrong bios for your notepad..or somethin along the lines of that)

any idea how i can solve this problem ??? Crying or Very sad
thanks in advance

Have you tried setting each device up as the generic device and then run the Windows Update? Sometimes Windows is smart enough to find the correct driver and install them on it's own.

I believe the Presario 2500 only ever came with WinXP so you'll probably have to find the device manufacturer for each item and check their WWW sites for drivers if the Windows Update doesn't find them.
