(Chinese coal carrier ran aground on the Great Barrier Reef last week and caused enormous damage)

@Dutchy,
damaged goods

(The Haiti earthquake caused "enormous damage" Dutch. I think you Aussies are trying to cause a diplomatic rift with China so that you can all pose as concerned and compassionate environmentalists. It was your coal and it was your responsibility to see that it was transported by a reputable company.)

goods bought

(You're a wise man spendi but on this occasion I cannot agree with your assertions. Did you have an early ale, a Foster Lager perhaps? Smile )

@Dutchy,
bought and sold.

(Well Dutch--here it is considered the responsibility of the contractor to make sure that the contracted are not the cheapest because they cut a few corners.)

@spendius,
65,000 tons of coal doesn't go very far in China so I presume this ship and this crew are on a regular run. How often has it plied the trade?

@spendius,
sold cheaply

(Australia and China have many billion of dollars coal and gas contracts. On this occasion the Captain attempted a short cut and was a long way from the recognised sea channel in the barrier reef. Now there're going to tighten the laws and ships must have a Australian pilot on board to guide them through the reef)
