NOT going home for a holiday is a marvelous PLAN that we are free of - if we get old enough, tough enough and don't feel required to tolerate any more infliction of internal damage than we must upon our gentle psyches; depending naturally, upon the family of origin. I ADORE going to other people's family's for holidays though - it's so much more fun watching other family's members squirm as normally would be me. for a change of pace, as in the movie Home for the Holidays.
