How do I mathematically prove that the maximum angle for a pendulum under gravity to oscillate is 90 degrees

Try doing a free body diagram of the pendulum at greater than 90 degrees. One thing that occurs to me is that the gravitational force on the mass will no longer have a component opposite to the tension in the cord.
