Recycle Bin Woes

Reply Wed 19 May, 2004 07:40 am
Using XP Home.
Deleted files stay in recycle bin for a maximum of 3 hours and then disappear.
The "Do not remove files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted" box is UNCHECKED.
I do not have any sheduled tasks running.

Sometimes, but not always, when I try to open the recycle bin I am told that it is corrupted.

Any ideas Question Question Question

How much free disk space do you have on your C: drive?

(If you are running low on disc space Windows will empty the recycle bin to make room for new files.)

Disk space is not a problem. I have a 120gb of free space. Smile

Thanks for your input. I have solved the problem.
A registry fix to restore the recycle bin from http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm did the trick.

Thanks once again
