@vivekpatel,
I'd like to help but I rarely make cakes.

I'll link you to one I do bake every year or two - easy and delicious - click on the link

Recipe Contest Venetian Walnut Cake
http://able2know.org/topic/10730-1

Adds, the nuts don't have to be walnuts. Those are very expensive here, so in my area, I would substitute almonds, which are about a third the price.

The cake is good, put a few candles on it if that's your interest.

@farmerman,
oh gawd, I HATE dump cake.

For some reason Wally gets a wild hair up his ass and will make one. The worst part is he puts in canned PINEAPPLE (ack) along with some other canned fruit. I never touch the stuff. He also makes it overly sweet.

I get pissed off just thinking about dump cake.

@farmerman,
woooo boy, now I'm more pissed.

I just went to Wally asking him for the generalities, and the glint in his eye and excitement in his voice makes me fearful he's going to make one.

The Readers Digest version of what took him forever to tell me, using his hands to describe the size of the pan, smoothing of ingredients, and slicing of butter.

You dump a can of crushed pineapple (ack) in a pan.
You dump a can of blueberries, or cherries or whatever, over it.
You dump a box white cake mix on top of that.
You put slices of butter all over the top.

Bake.

It's disgusting.

chai (don't make me tell you about the time when we first met that he thought he would woo me with a peanut butter pie - double ack) tea

@chai2,
I tell him every time he makes it, it's disgusting. I never eat it.

Somehow he still thinks I like it.

chai (he does make great pound cake though) tea.

Laughing

Oh lord.
That comes from a line of Dolly Partons in the Steel Magnolias movie.

a cup of flour
a cup of sugar
a cup of fruit cocktail

That's it.

After watching the movie, I actually made it to see if it was for real.
I'm pretty sure I decreased the sugar, and increase the fruit cocktail, since they don't make 8 oz cans.

Whatever, it was just for a goof.

I seem to remember it was edible, that's about all.

I think it would appeal as a dessert to people who liked to have vienna sausage, boiled goobers and mountain dew for supper.

Honey Boo Boo's mom? She likes it after a trough of sketti and butter (as if she uses real butter)

Presenting...

The SKETTI RECIPE!

Apologies in advance, I left out the ingredient of ketchup. However, I was right about the "butter". It looks like either Shed's Spread or the Piggly Wiggly generic equiv.

chai (It's been awhile since I done had road kill in my belly) tea

2 cups of self raising flour
1 cup of castor sugar
1 cup of softened butter
4 eggs
Step 1: Pop all your ingredients into the mixing bowl.

Step 2: Mix away… mix, mix, mix.

Step 3: Pour your mixture into the greased baking pans. And bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes.

Step 4: When your cake is ready the knife will come out clean. Leave your cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes and then cool it on a cake rack till it is completely cooled (else the icing will slide off!).

Step 5: While your cake is cooling make some butter cream icing. You will need a lump of butter, icing sugar, a dash of hot water and food coloring. This is not a precise science!

Pop the sugar and butter into the microwave and melt the butter. Then stir it together. Add a dash of boiling water – this smoothes it out. And add drop of food coloring in your favorite color.

Step 6: By now your cake should have cooled and you can pour the icing onto it…

Step 7: Decorate away with sprinkles or sweeties.
