For no reason at all, many of my fonts keep disappearing; at times, every font does. At the moment, I can read nothing that is not in either Ariel or Book Antiqua; is this due to a virus? How can it be prevented?
Your fonts disappeared? Wow!
I guess after you reach a certain age you lose one thing after another:
'Organs'
Organs betray me, honey bun,
Malfunctions big and small;
Last year they took away my one
And only place for storing gall.
I have a uro-doctor now,
(Admired by his peers)
And now I notice -ow!
Hair, growing on the inside of my ears.
Ironically, on top my hair is thinner
And, (to tell you this may be a little crass)
Every evening after eating dinner,
I soak my (upper) denture in a glass.
What's that my dear?
My love, the situation's worse than what I paint,
So I must disappoint you now I fear:
My joints are stiff tonight...but some thing ain't.

drom,
I've seen some similar reports but have not seen anyone pinpoint a reason or a solution.
I think there is, in fact, a virus that deletes fonts but I can't tell you if you have it. My guess is no.
Have you checked to see if the font files themselves actually disappear?
