signing my own autographs adressing them to myself
"Dear Kashan all the best, Love Kashan"
I try to do the self love act,
I just try maintian a blance
happy to be myself
hot choclate, long baths in ylang ylang, parties with friends in clubs with baby blue walls and dark haired puppy dog eyed men.
i don't need anybody
i whisper to my heart
i don't won't anybody
i mumble to my head...
nobody not anybody
i'm a nobody without anybody
lie in bed dreaming about somebody
at 5 am when the night air is so cold
the dogs water bowl ices up
when it's so cold that loving myself
doesn't keep me warm.
i'm a nobody without anybody
parties with friends in inner city clubs
stay awake all night not to dream
moonless evenings, starry twilights
keep myself busy
I love myself
I don't need anybody
I whisper to my heart
I don't want anybody
I whisper to my mind.
I give myself another lonely pep talk
before dawn.
Tagged, a very haunting poem. Keep this kind of poetry going, and you won't be alone for long.
Welcome to A2K and please continue to write.
thank you so much letty... i appreciate that. mst of my poems are read to be said alod so reading them never does them justice
The same is true with music, tagged. We see the words, but the sounds just don't come through.
I always like to first read a poem, and then speak it aloud. The difference is amazing. I really like the piece, so poignant, and reading it aloud brings it all together. When I was in high school, and studying Shakespeare, our teacher made us read the plays out loud, and taught us all a valuable lesson about the power of speech, and it's true contribution to the written word.
Yeah exactly letty, I'm a bit of perfermance poet doing open mics and slams but i try not fall into the cliches of politics too much as thats way to common on the slam scene.
Cav thanks for that, poetry, like any art peice, is really personal and this poem in paticular if you know what I mean.
