I recently had a test run on my pc and everything was protected except cookies,ActiveX,Web Bugs and javascript. What is the best way to protect these?
What "test"?
What browser?
What... etc etc
But if I had to guess, it's IE, some marginally useful online "test" and the solution is to be found in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced...

No Craven, actually they didn't promote anything. And I believe it was legit. But I have firewall and erasers and sweepers and all kinds of stuff but I didn't realize the activeX and all were unprotected. I was in search of a software download that would protect these areas.
You don't need a download, that is a configuration option.
The path to the configuration I gave above was an error. It should be (in IE):
Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level
Thne you will see some options on how to deal with Active X controls and plug ins.
I have mine set to prompt for signed Active X controls and disable unsigned ones.

Thank you,I'm glad to know someone out there is a guru!!!
