Allen is pretty versatile. He made a nonhumorous murder-mystery film in 2005 that is quite good. Its title is "Match Point."

It is about a British tennis pro who marries into a wealthy family and enters into an affair with a beautiful American.

I thought it was pretty well done, too. Loved the male lead - Rhys-Davis or something...
